Man of Science+Man of God
Science- a Glimpse of God
Men of Science
Gottfried
Wilhelm Leibnitz ( 1646-1716 )
Perhaps one
of the most gifted philosophers and mathematicians; he was a co-discoverer with
Newton of calculus also of the fundamental principle of energy conservation. He
introduced the binary notational system and the Boolean system of logic.
Man of God
Best known for his philosophical and
theological study “theodicy”” that this is the best of possible worlds. He
believed strongly in God and wrote a defense of the doctrine of the holy
Trinity.
Men Of Science
Michael Faraday (1791-1867)
He is
universally acclaimed as one of the greatest physicists of all time! His
boldest and much acknowledged gift was
in scientific experimentation. Particularly in the development of the
new sciences of electricity and magnetism. He invented the generator and made
other key inventions and discoveries.
Man of God.
By all
accounts a man of deep humility and sincere belief in God , prayer and the
Bible. His church which he led some of its ministries, fully agreed and fully
believed in the abiding teaching which stated,” The Bible and it alone, with
nothing added to it and nothing taken from it by man is the sole and sufficient
guide for each individual, at all times
and in all circumstances.”
Men of Science
Humphrey Davey (1778-1829)
He was a great chemist. Faraday , his apprentice was encouraged to
pursue Science and devoted his whole life to it. Sir Humphrey was the first to
isolate many chemical elements, which lead him to the motion theory of heat, to
invent the safety lamp and to uncover the Diamond’s true nature being highly compressed carbon.
Man of God
Like
Faraday, he was a devout Bible believing Christian, highly altruistic and
generous. In a latter period of life he dabbled with Christian mysticism. But
returned to Biblical Christianity and found peaceful living in his retired years.
